yes, and they figured this out years ago too. apple aren't even trying. it just looks like it was designed by an accountant that worked out it was cheaper to manufacturer screens with holes in them than to make the device larger to incorporate the camera and senors into the top edge. there's no benefit to this design at all that i can see.

The notch is Apple's identity. This adds no functional space yet makes things more annoying for developers. They just added the notch to the entire macbook lineup. Why would they take the signature apple notch away from their phones now? Anyone who believes this is retarded. The notch may get slightly smaller but don't expect it to go away for a few years at least. It's the biggest part of Apple branding now besides the iconic camera square on the back
