i5-12400f or i5-12600kf, how will they fare for the next 5 years? I wanna game at 1440p Max settings. How much will they bottleneck the next gen of GPU?

Hello, the list I made a year ago to future proof my pc is a little outdated when I revisited it. I was going to get a NZXT N7 B550 ATX AM4 Motherboard along with a AMD Ryzen 5 5600X but I'm not sure about it now, given that AM5 is releasing sometime soon, and I'm told that there were some issues with USB connectivity on B550 boards? I'm upgrading for a balance between rendering and gaming, at first I thought the 5600x would be fine, but there's a great offer on a Ryzen 9 5950X, so I'm a little troubled. Another thing is will I have trouble with a 3600 MHz pair of RAM? I think there was something about having to fiddle with "infinity fabric clock speed" on AMD boards with ram over 3200 MHz, though I might be mistaken. Anyways those are really the only two things I'm replacing, they should work fine with a 750 watt psu and my trusty 1060 6GB gpu afaik? Anything else I should consider looking out for? even going with an intel chipset mobo+cpu if it generally has better performance/value ratio? thanks

i5? max settings? for five years? might have to go for i9s user
Is 1440p gaming that demanding? I dunno because I only ever game at 1080p and wanna upgrade to that with my next build. What about i7-12700f? R7 5800x3D is not an option because in my country, it's like 30% more expensive.

this is just word vomit so tldr: >NZXT N7 B550 ATX AM4 Motherboard yes or no? >Ryzen 5 5600X? or >Ryzen 9 5950X? >32GB 3600 MHz RAM good enough for rendering or maybe even 64GB?
Not him but the resolution you are playing at doesn't really matter when it comes to the CPU, I think he's talking about the max settings and fice years part. You should get an I5 or I9 if you wanna do that and if I were you I would wait for the 13700k, it's basically the 12900k but 5-10% better for an I7 price.

I'm him and yeah, essentially what you said. though keep an eye out for discounts on i7s

makes me hopeful about zen4 actually, ryzen benefits from RAM speed quite a bit I bet they could've increased zen3 performance by a decent margin by simply replacing DDR4 memory controller for DDR5
