I would teleport back to the moment I was breaking up with my late girlfriend. She was an icon, a truly remarkable creature of beautiful wonder; a creative intellectual, very intelligent and en route to join the Army. We were a really strong couple; did everything together and were joined at the hip, had the most amazing sex every time we were together. It was in the country, where I met her at the train station every time I went to see her and every time she’d leave me as I departed for home. I sat with her on the pedestrian bridge watching the sun go down, that’s where I told her I had fallen out of love with her. She immediately started crying whilst clutching her back pack tightly, crying even harder as she reached into it. Out she pulled a scrap book that she had been carrying with her from the moment we first got together. She then handed it to me and said, “If we were to of stayed together, this book would of been archived for centuries to come and would be known as the book of love”.
I stood my ground stupidly in a fit of arrogance and disregarding their significance of what she had created and simply said, “Goodbye Jess”.
Once I had left her, she had 3 mental breakdowns. Her final one leading her to the point of no return. She has now tattooed her face, shaved her head and parties every day. I am positive she is still not over me. I deeply regret this day nearly 8 years on, married to a woman who doesn’t love me but have a child who I love dearly.
I love you Jessica forever and always.
