Can you Linux kernel devs fuck off with these warnings, please? I have no idea what "xhci_pci" or "bfa" is. Every other month there's a new warning that appears and the number of warnings keep increasing. Just fuck off.

Why are you building these modules if you have no clue what they are and don't need them? And if you do need them, you probably won't get very far using them without the firmware they need.

these warnings are useful, and are meant to help you avoid wasting time (i'm not going to explain how though because you should figure it out yourself)
t. linux kernel maintainer (dkms)

Holy fucking retard.

I'm not building anything. I'm installing updates.

appreciate you.

??

If you're not doing the build yourself, why do you care about warnings? They're just warnings, and you're not a package maintainer. So long as the build doesn't error out and works in the end, all is well.

>So long as the build doesn't error out and works in the end, all is well.

Yeah, but this is why it pisses me off. Everything works fine, so why show these warnings at all?

‘bfa’ deez nuts, biznitch!!

damn, what the fuck kinda cards do you have in this computer?

Because they may mean something to package maintainers. Now wait until someone actually has an xhci_pci and files a ticket about how it's missing its firmware and doesn't work.

xhci_pci is USB 3, i believe most computers have that nowadays

But do most of them use the xhci_pci module, or a different module?

Unless a piece of your hardware is not working correctly just ignore it you sperg.

Normally it'd be connected via PCI so it would make sense if they did. After some looking it seems some controllers need specific firmware, if it works for OP he can ignore the warning

unless you have something that needs those modules, they can be ignored

You can install a few packages from aur to make them stop, or use another distro.

So this is the power of archfags. These warnings come from your shitty distro's shitty initramfs generation tool. Stop using a meme distro and you won't have meme issues.

There were zero of these until 5.9 and they just don't stop coming
