The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin...

The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin. Why do so many people try to defend it when God was very clear how he felt about it?

Did you cross compare all 1200 religions when you chose yours?

You're imaginary friend doesn't dictate reality

Sorry but Marduk is the only real god

You mean like muslims that push gays off of buildings and light them on fire?

They are living in willful rebellion and they are the center star of their own world where they dictate morality.
Its funny how if you dont accept the trans freaks, who are LITERALLY mentally ill as normal, and the gays which is LITERALLY an aberration, you are the one that is hateful.
They are a lost cause, its not even worth debating with homo defenders.

The Bible also clearly states God created MAN aka ME in his own image.

Here's ME doing WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT in God's own image. Get REKT baby.

Why, well because your religion sold out. It dropped the lords word for more market appeal. They turned your faith into a product to sell to degenerates.

>The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin
Point to an accurate translation that actually says that

There is only one true God

You should definitely read the Bible

So what does a picture of this asshole have to do with this topic?

god is always right

The KJV is clear enough, there is no "it was added", the greek and hebrew are clear for anyone to read who actually wants to prove something.
The greek is VERY clear that buttpiracy is a sin.

it does, in leviticus.
the real question is why does that rule stand while all the bullshit about mixing fabrics and circumcision was deus ex machina'd by jesus

The old law was not removed, there is something better, the new covenant. The whole mosaic law is still there. Atheists like to bring up the fabric and pork thing, they are silly questions that need not be answered and are reconciled in scripture.

praise allah

Leviticus 18:22- Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable

Romans 1:27- In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Leviticus 20:13- If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads

I can keep going. God hates fags and so do I. There is no way around it. It is immoral and disgusting

The Bible also clearly defines gluttony as a sin. Where are all the laws making it illegal to have kids if you weigh more than 175?

people always say "new covenant" as if it answers the question
why do the rules of the new covenant cover some rules of life but not others?
you didn't, you just said it's silly

not very convincing

> love God
> love your neighbor as yourself
> forgive others who have wronged you
>love your enemies
> ask God for forgiveness for your sins
> Jesus is the messiah and was given the authority to forgive others
> repentance for your sins is essential
> don't be hypocritical
> don't judge others
> the kingdom of God is near. It is not the rich and powerful - but the weak and poor - who will inherit this Kingdom

These are the teachings of Christ.
If you do not adhere to them you are NOT a Christian.
If you cherry-pick parts of the Bible to undermine these teachings you are NOT a Christian. Utilising the Jewish parts of the Bible for this purpose is unchristian

A Christian puts the teachings of Christ before all other sources of knowledge.
Hermeneutics are a sin.

So is sloth, envy and lust...and yet here you are.

i'm convinced

can you explain it to me then? what's special about the homosex rule that means it still applies?

It does answer the question, read the entirety of book of hebrews, well all the new testament except the gospels and revelation (for sake of time) if you are unfamiliar.

The entirety of the old testament is still in effect, however the new covenant/testament overrides it if you have faith in Christ. We follow the old laws because they are good, but we cant do them all because we are prone to sin. Highly recommend you read hebrews, slowly.

So...the bible says women who are raped should be put to death...and also there are mass abortions approved by god...and the bible is filled with child murders...

could you please try and answer the fucking question, this is getting annoying

why is the rule about gay sex kept while the others weren't?

when I think a thing, I generally don't need to tell someone to read an entire book to understand it.

>take Paul's word for it
Why would I when the text you're referring to talks about Paul's transition from Saul into Paul, a fictional arc that took a mistranslation of "I greatly pursued the jews" literally to mean that he actually killed them, something archeologists and biblical scholars alike can agree never happened

Why would I take anything attributed to him seriously when the book you're suggested in sandwiched between other books that invoke his name but in a demonstrably false way?

Jesus preached love and forgiveness. Love your neighbor. Forgive your enemies. "Let he who is without sin cat the first stone" etc. Only God and Jesus have the authority to judge others.

Christians are very flexible with this.

>The entirety of the old testament is still in effect, however the new covenant/testament overrides it if you have faith in Christ. We follow the old laws because they are good, but we cant do them all because we are prone to sin.

The old Testament should be an appendix in the Bible to give the teachings of Christ some context

They were ALL kept. The issue is you cannot turn away from gay sex when you live in a gay relationship, you are DEEP in sin, not something you can walk away from.

god here, smoke the fags

It's really quite a trivial issue when you consider the wider teachings of Jesus.

pathetic non-answer
I guess expecting intellectual rigour from christians is asking too much

Bible, blah blah blah, Jesus, blah blah blah
Christ, I'd be embarrassed to have an imaginary friend as an adult

Well at least when you are hell, you wont be just a homo, you will be a flaming homo.

The Bible isn't interesting because it's true or because it's not true; it's interesting because it can be used to mean whatever you want it to mean. Chock full of Barnum statements and vague platitudes to appeal to the congregation and prime them to line the church's pockets. It's one of the longest running means of running scams, and that's why you've got all sorts of homo-apologist Christians.

Wrath is a sin, user. Don't you have the fruits of the spirit like all good Christians?

yeah, you'll be right next to me for eating pork and wearing nylon apparently

Don't bother. Christians worship weakness when they're not in power and they worship strength when they are in power. No different than any other religious or political group. They're not special.

I only take the synoptic gospels seriously (mathew, Mark and luke)

Id rather cut the rope and watch them burn tbh
