Hey man, you asked. As someone who hires for the company I work for I'll be honest. I don't hire people who say dumb shit in an interview. I also don't even bother interviewing anyone who's got a jewish, black or mexican name. I scope their social media and if I see a rainbow flag, a predditor flag etc. Resume goes into the bin. If the candidate is ugly? Bin. Etc. Is this discrimination? Absolutely. Is it illegal? Only if they can prove it in court. My hires are almost all good hires at this point. Since taking this position 4 years ago I brought my company's annual turnover from 54% to 21% purely from discrimination, have received several bonuses and atta boys from bosses for having an "eye for talent" when really I'm just racist, homophobic and transphobic and have pretty much entirely been hiring only straight white people.
