They are 100% going to ruin it

Thanks, but I'm sticking with v5.666

>we're building winamp for the next generation
why the fuck does every thing have to go globohomo
i don't even use winamp now I'm a linuxfag
but used to. gives me nostalgia

it's like hearing from an old friend you haven't seen in a long time and finding out he's trans now

Thanks but I'm sticking with foobar2000

lets list some of the things that will ruin it:

>ads
>compulsory registration
>scans your library and shares/sells your contents
>requires internet connection
>bullshit copyright media protection
>removal of existing features
>death of shoutcast
>a basic UI and experience indistinguishable from VLC, SPOTIFY, or any other number of bullshit if we wanted we would just use that instead.

you forgot
>you have to pay
it's basically getting spotifucked

at least they havent (yet) taken down the existing old one

Thanks but I'm sticking with qmmp.

Old Winamp versions are perfectly fine too if you're okay with proprietary abandonware. The primary business of this company seems to be SHOUTcast now. If you look closely at the server they run for fox news radio you can see it's actually icecast.

>death of shoutcast
This is a good thing. Why anybody still uses it is beyond me. As I said in my last post they don't even use that piece of shit themselves. It was great for it's time but has long since been surpassed.

sure, we'll just replace it with your mandatory content ID service that ruins any hope at small independent broadcasting anything but the most boring and mundane content.

Any reason to switch from musicbee?

The old versions run forever. Such is the magic of windows retrocompatibility, as well as wine.

I will wine it at some point. right now I'm just seriously comfy with clementine

Winamp is for boomers that never found foobar, and that "remaster" is for nobody at all.

>people use program because it is barebones and doesnt have stupid useless features
>"how can we capture the market of people who dont use our product?"
Marketing executives are the most retarded people on the planet fr no cap.

There's been open source Winamp clones available since forever. Is there something wrong with them?

yeah, zoomers are not nostalgic about those other versions.
