I've been using the MX518 since Any Forums recommended it to me in 2010.
It's finally starting to crap out, I think the cable is fucked as I randomly lose USB connection sometimes.
What's the new Any Forums approved MX518 of 2022?

Bad news OP. mice that do not double click after a few months no longer exist
Keep your mouse and just repair that cable
My SteelSeries Sensei 310 doesn't and I've had it since about 2019
I've never owned a Logitech mouse that has double clicked and I've had a few for a decade now.

About
Sneed's Feed & Seed (Formerly Chuck's) is a joke and innuendo from the animated television series The Simpsons. The questionable validity of the punchline and confusing nature of the joke's structure has turned it into a tool for trolling and memes referencing the original quip, which uses the scene from the show as an exploitable in photoshops and other edits. After spreading to Any Forums, "Sneedposting" became a widespread shitposting format to reference Sneed's Feed & Seed.
Origin
The original scene comes from the fifth episode of season 11 of The Simpsons titled "E I E I (ANNOYED GRUNT)," which aired on November 7th, 1999.[2] In the scene, Homer parks outside the titular farming supply store "Sneed's Feed & Seed" (underneath in parenthesis reads "Formerly Chuck's") before being berated by two men (seen below).[1]
The first internet reference to Sneed's Feed & Seed comes from an episode capsule text document written on March 27th, 2000, by Benjamin Robinson on the Simpson's Archive[4] website (shown below). In the post, Robinson detailed the hidden innuendo in the title by pointing out the correlation of "Sneed, feed and seed" all ending with the suffix "-eed," meaning Chuck's former ownership would imply the "-uck" suffix instead — leading to the store formerly being "Chuck's Fuck & Suck" if following the initial starting letters.
Any Forums Revival and Sneedposting
On June 12th, 2012, an anonymous user posted a picture of the Sneed's Feed & Seed sign to Any Forums's Any Forums board. This is the oldest post referencing the meme that was captured by the archiving website DesuArchive[6] (shown below).
My MX518 failed last year.
Got the new MX518 but it started doubleclicking within a few weeks so steer well clear of that.
Ended up with a G402 and so far all seems well. G502 is also there if you want one of those spinny mousewheels
i know everyone likes the laser mouses but i prefer the weight of the rolling balls sometimes when i lay over my gf's lap she'll use my ass as a mouse pad and my hairs will get caught in the roller ball and ill make a funny little noise that always makes her laugh! i love her so much!
Checked. I have the same mouse and it works great.
I'm over here stroking my dick I got lotion on my dick right now. I'm just stroking my shit I'm horny as fuck man I'm a freak man like for real.
what a waste
I've got myself the G400(s) after using 2 different MX518 versions. Basically the same mouse. I don't think they are being produced anymore so see if you can find one for cheap. Also look out for the asian versions, I bought myself a second one in 2016 or something in case my G400s ever dies but it seems to be much worse or even a knock off from the original. Looks identical to my first one but only korean/jap/chinese language on the thing.
thanks lads, i'll look into the steelseries and g400s
Chuck was also in the Seed and Feed business, but he's being framed by Sneed to look like a degenerate and destroy his business. Classic big Sneed industries going after the little guy and no one cares
3 years isn't that long user it might crook any moment
your mouse appears to have suffered hail damage
Could be true of office mice because they have different hardware and software designs, but "gaming" Logitech mice doubleclick like mad and have been proven to be designed in a way that promotes this. I have had numerous Logitech (and other) gaming mice since 2010 that doubleclicked.
Mice with optical switches are fine. First one I bought was a Razer, but there are plenty of brands that have them now and seem to genuinely resolve the most common causes of doubleclicks.
nah, all of them are gaming mice
I went from MX518 to G400s to G502 Hero.
The G502 Proteus Core/Spectrum is the old, original version of the G502 which is beloved by many (and also hated by people who don't like slightly heavy mice) which is discontinued and is usually never cheaper than the newer variant if you want to buy new anywhere that still has it in stock, and the G502 Hero is a newer model that's being sold today.
The "Hero" branding means Logietch put a new, what they call, "Hero" optical sensor in their mice. When they did this, they decided to cut costs eaten by implementing this new sensor by cheaping out on the switches which are prone to the infamous "double clicking" problem that surfaces after a couple months of use. This is the case for anything that uses the Hero sensor, and the case for some other mouse manufacturers also that decided to cheap out and use shitty switches. This is okay to these companies and braindead retards who don't do extensive research because these mice have GAYMEN features.
Though I've been lucky with my Hero variant for at least 2 years now, I'm well aware that many have suffered to the point we have anti-shills of Logitech which is completely justifiable and I won't argue with because Logitech are jews. Luckily I'm comfortable with soldering and third party switches are very cheap so when the time comes for my mouse, I'm ready to replace it. I love the feeling of it so much which is the only reason I bought it over any other mouse on the market after my G400s broke.
Up to you what you want to do with this information.
>open mouse
>move knot in usb cable up a few mm
>get another 5 years out of it
Back on my worn out G400 as my Mionix middle click stopped and I need it for 3D work.
Is the MX Master a complete meme or is the side scroll and free wheeling actually a good thing?
Doesn't change the fact that I paid around 30 dollars for it and didn't shit out in three months
