desktop?

Invidious.

Common Sense. It's free, does not need install, lives rent free in your head. Just use it.

Unhook, can remove everything but the subscriptions page. It's pretty good, but ultimately it's self-control that will help you the most.

yes you can block everything you want like you want, i for example block all cringe videos out of my timeline

use "blocktube" and "Unhook - Remove YouTube Recommended Videos"

are you referring to selfcontrolapp dot com?

I want it to be so when I click on a vertical video that's under 1min, it just plays as a normal video and doesn't take me to the TikTok-style
endless scrolling "shorts shelf"

Replace /shorts/ with /watch?v=. your welcome.

Found it.

You don't need an ad blocker either. Common Sense works better

no you fucking zoomer, just have some goddamn discipline

it's called common sense, but it sure as hell isn't common!

You mean blocking the recommendation, or just switching from short to normal video?
Either do what said or use a bookmarklet:
window.location=window.location.toString().replace(/shorts\//,'watch?v=');

(only posted the inner javascrip, because if you post the whole thing the site assumes it's malicious code)

get Violentmonkey and install this script

i just unsubscribed from people who does it. a bit drastic, but it's only way they can learn. maybe i come back in couple years to them if i remember

>having an account
pretty sure Jewtube has automatically converted all videos under a certain length to Short

B-but...
I LIKE SHORTS! THEY'RE COMFY AND EASY TO WATCH!

Yes it is called "DON'T FUCKING CLICK ON IT"

# echo "0.0.0.0 www.youtube.com" > /etc/hosts

Don't do this, it deletes everything you already have in hosts, and breaks anything that depends on "localhost" mapping to 127.0.0.1.

Shit I meant >>

That's what everyone says right after they truncate a large and important file using >.

If it's actually an important file, there are backups of it
