Sure feels good beating down capitalist servants on Any Forums every time there's a thread, but it can get kind of boring.

Universal Basic Income. Shouldn't be enough to make food, and housing free (just gonna leave healthcare out of this one. It shouldn't be free anyway) but a real world UBI should be enough so that even working a crap job, you can provide for you family. This encourages people to have children and avoid the demographic apocalypses most of, Europe, Japan, and ESPECIALLY china currently face.

Nothing is free, someone pays for it somewhere.
If you define "free" as "end user doesn't pay", thats different, but thats not truly "free".

In debate we call that moving the goalpost in an argument. Socialists aren't claiming that it will be totally free, that's scientifically impossible, but rather that under a gift economy in full-scale communism there won't be an exploitative rent for things created and produced, things are produced for the sheer enjoyment of it and the social credit that comes along with it.

Living in a first world nation is like that. We have great things built on the backs of the poor and downtrodden.

doctors, farmers and developers need to be paid, so suggesting their work to be free is insane.
paying for those with tax money is a different thing however, you basically donate to nation-wide charity so everyone has access to elementary resources needed to live a bearable life. You need for that a well working system to manage and assign 'leeching' citizens (that most of the posters in this threat dread) to work, and procedures for calculating tax of freelancers that don't have a consistent outcome. Tax application would also need reworking, with major emphasis on securing its spending on mentioned things and bot being rerouted to other matters like military or infrastructure (which are of course important, but shouldn't be allowed to steal from the money pool of other goverment obligations to the nation).
It is very much possible, but it's an investment from the government that america is not willing to commit to for now.
