Why is this "stupid"?
Literally every other site on the internet simply immediately takes down copyright infringing material, then bans the poster. Copyright infringement is in fact a felony, both under U.S. law (where Any Forums servers are) and internationally under the Berne Convention. Any Forums can literally be sued and shut down for allowing images to be posted here that are not actually owned originally by the poster, barring license to use with permission from the actual copyright holder.
Instagram and Facebook has ramped up copyright criminal and civil proceedings significantly in the last month against various sites that are allowing individuals to post their (IG and FB) images stolen from their site and their proper content to be posted elsewhere. There was even a recent lawsuit against a much wealthier website that allowed one single post of an IG image of a female taken from her account, and then that site (redtit) issued a notice to all users that they will be instantly banned and their IP addresses saved and reported as well.
I have no idea why Any Forums is even allowing "social" threads anymore, but lawsuits, both civil and criminal will be imminent. No other image board ever allows for this, obviously, not even the shady porn boards.

turns out they filed lawsuits against two of those sites already and have said more are coming, and the USDOJ has actually issued a statement that they have received a criminal complaint on copyright infringement and are reviewing it for prosecution
turns out they regularly prosecute such cases because it is a very easy kill for a prosecutor

2. did the poster have a license to re-post it?
