US isn't going to spend a trillion anythings. We're going to send over any military equipment Ukraine needs, then take all the frozen russian assets and use them to pay for rebuilding. Or they'll slap an international tarrif on russian oil/gas to pay for it as a condition of lifting some of the sanctions. Russia will pay for starting the war.
