Don't listen to , Satan. Tequila is a far better choice for a Bloody Mary than vodka. The black peppery notes of a good reposado are quite complimentary to the tomato juice (especially if you've gone a Mexican route and added some chili, lime, and tajin.
I think that vodka is the far more dangerous of liquors, honestly. There's a reason why Russians are so fucked up and, even if vodka isn't the cause, it's definitely a catalyst.
