Even if it works, the age difference shows when you two get older. My grandfather was 9 years old than my grandma. He died because of heart failure when he was 69, meaning that my grandma became widow at 60. This isn't that uncommon, but people usually live together until much greater age. Being much older in relationship puts the younger one into danger spending more years than average alone after you die.
