Recent mpv commit supports librubberbands new audiostretching algorithm introduced in v3.0. I'm listening to some podcast at 2.5x and everything is easily understandable.
That's cool user but librubberband itself isn't the default anymore, it's been scaletempo2 for over a year and a half. It was lifted from Chromium and in my experience is crystal-clear up to 6x speed or so depending on pitch

Apparently it was on my system. Just set af=scaletempo2 and you're right, 4x is easily understood.

How do I stop the seekbar/controls from autohiding and prevent it from overlapping video content? I put
osc=yes
visibility=always
boxvideo=yes
in mpv.conf but it does nothing. I'm using the chocolatey version "mpv 2021.11.01".
the last two options go in osc.conf in a script-opts folder or you can do
script-opts=osc-visibility=always,osc-boxvideo=yes
instead in mpv.conf
that's what it's there for doofus
if you're using an old build it's there for you to change it to compatible settings

1.- how much time do you spent tinkering the player itself
2.- how much time do you actually enjoy the media
Set it and forget it. git pull mpv and libplacebo repos occasionally, run my rebuild script, continue.
