Hello /b

Hello /b
Today I accidently hit and killed a cat right in front of the owner. It jumped out right from behind a parked car and kamikazed itself in front of me. I didn't even notice it until I felt the bumps from underneath. When I saw the cat from my mirror, I jumped out and ran to help the owners. The cat was alive, but was clearly in a lot of pain. The owners were very upset and understandably pretty angry. This cat on 3 occasions has dived right in front of my car, causing me to emergency brake.

I feel awful. I've never hit an animal before. What should I do? Maybe leave some flowers on their front door. We live in the same neighbourhood btw.

Any cat that jumps in front of moving vehicles that often doesn't deserve to reproduce. You did God's work

Leave them alone you've done enough.

Im sorry for the anima tho. Shit happens and this obv could not be averted

Cars aren't natural

Ask if you can have the leftover cat food since they won’t be needing it any longer.

damn man that shit's awful. Flowers might be a decent idea, maybe a note. after that though leave them alone.
And don't tell them where you live. Depending on how special that cat was to them, it could actually put you at risk.

go play in traffic faggot

OP here
I might leave them a note. Their teenage daughter came out and screamed at me. Called me a fucking twat and ran inside crying. I felt so bad. It was probably just the heat of the moment but when I ran over to apologized the mother was like "sorry isn't going to cut it". I was like okay, I'll just leave then

Yea send flowers

Animals are killed all the time. Owner should have had it under their control IE: leash.
Not your fault.
Animal Control person here. Commonly called dog catcher.

>Lets out retard cat that doesn't know how to safely cross a street
>Gets mad when it doesn't safely cross the street
They sound like terrible owners who had a cat for the sake of having a cat. They'd probably easily replace it

it seems like the daughter cared about the cat. a lot of boomers grew up with "animals belong outside" attitudes. the pet and the children pay the price for that bullshit. it's fucked

so if a child doesn't understand how cars work and gets squished, is it "natural selection" or retarded parents? the people who let that cat outside are the ones responsible, not OP or the poor creature

Tell them you're pressing charges for damage to your vehicle from them not keeping their stupid fucking cat off the road.

Listen to this guy.
Let it go user.
Your neighbours are dicks.

Fuck 'em if they were angry. If you have an outdoor cat, you have to accept it might get TIREd.
I understand why you feel bad, though. I once greased a black cat that bolted out of an unlit field at night. There was nothing I could do about it, the fucker just dove for the tires. I still felt bad about it.

this, nothing to be done for it user

Feels bad man, but that cat was destined to be hit by either you or someone else considering it liked to pull that shit.

Not your fault user. You feel bad about it because you're a decent human being.
Also if you're reading this and you've got pets, for the love of fuck, keep them indoors, or on a leash. This shit happens way too often.

OP here
My family has owned 4 cats. 2 of which died from cars. I guess this kind of shit just happens. I do know there was literally nothing I could've done but it makes me sad knowing that I've made 3 people upset going to bed tonight. Yeah they were being slight dicks but it's understandable since I've just ran over the family pet right in front of them

this literally looks like the one I ran over

scary

I get it man. My first cat got killed because he was an outdoor pet. Wasn't a car (he jumped a fence and got mangled by an angry pitbull) but that's not the point. Modern world isn't safe for animals.
