I have a problem with my scarlett solo 3d gen

i have a problem with my scarlett solo 3d gen.
i have a sound delay that's especially noticable when i'm recording over a track.
it persists even when the "direct monitor" button is activated wich makes me question it's usefulness.
i tried on both audacity and reaper, same problem.
is there something i missed?
recording vocals and guitar btw

I'd ask in Any Forums.

you're probably right
thanks for showing the way friend

No problem

I'd try /my/ for the fuck of it too, maybe a musician will have the same gear.

Never had any issues with my Gen 2. Odd.

1) Make sure you have the latest drivers. There's a specific Windows 11 driver, btw.
2) Check the latency settings in ASIO4ALL and your recording software just to be sure.
3) If you don't have ASIO4ALL installed, install it.
4) If the problem persists, it may be a RAM/CPU issue. This is particularly common on AMD Ryzen CPU's with RAM slower than 3200Mhz.

Scarlett is known to have tons of issues on M1 Macs.

Focusrite have been nothing but a pita for me.

Beringher x18 is really great. Can be used with or without the computer. Has very usable effects incl compressors. Can be controlled via a tablet. Has six aueouts for send and returns. Costs are comparable.

Other than that, you could look at rme etc.

Any Forums will just laugh at you and post "Ligma"
Any Forums is cancer

Love this thread- don't know what the fuck you are talking about but is shows that there is a tribe for everybody.

Everything I hear about Focusrite is that it's shit lol
If I was you I'd look into AUDIENT iD14 MKII, it's seriously good

check the buffer size. it should be as low as possible without crackling.

hey thank you very much, it worked!
i did install ASIO4ALL, configured it for reaper and now there is near to 0 latency!
thanks to everyone in this thread too, hope ya'll having a great day!

Yeah I loved my gen3, but the issues with my setup got a little tedious. goxlr is life now

Did you try turning it off and on again ?

You need to set the offset for it. youtu.be/lOI1Thjc1Ts

had the same problem. the solution is easy. sell your shitty scareltt interface and buy hthe SSL 2 interface. it has much less latency. its not even noticable

I have the same iterface. did you install the official focusrite drivers? don't use that asio4all crap.
I have the sample rate to 96khz and buffer size to 256 and I'm getting 8ms latency on a new project.

there should be no delay on direct monitor mode to your headset as long as your headset is connected to the deck directly otherwise direct monitor does nothing. This does not mean there is no delay when recording as your computer must spend time encoding the audio signal to digital and you will need to pan your track to make up for the encoding time. if you are listening to your instrument through the computer not through the deck you will hear double the delay because the computer will encode the signal then decode it again before you can hear it.

good luck with your soundbox, kid
