I think the internet died and no one noticed. Well it's not that people didn't see it happening, there just wasn't a tipping point until it was too late.
New generations will never have the unlimited free access to knowledge and the human experience that we did. Search engines have decayed. News articles written in such a way that they'll never be found with cursory search terms(remember Easter worshipers). In order to prove something happens you'll need to know the time it happened and exactly how reporters talked about it at the time.
Communities are controlled. They'll never create a website, they'll just make a Facebook page. Even if you did create something, after a certain size they'll make bots for it. The amount of grace you have before that happens depends on your community and how much html you borrow
The language has even been dumbed down, but that's probably just because tech has become too accessible. The only problem is now resources are trying to meet the meaningless phrases normies say. So in order to get tech advice you'll need to think of how someone 20iq points below you would have asked. Only incredibly insular groups like incels have specific lingo that lasts.
Then there's the bots, good lord save us from these bots. Any Forums is NOT the same place it was before them. No part of the internet is. Nothing will ever overwrite the fact that you could just be talking to nothing. In the old days, at least calling a retard meant a retard had to feel something in response. Now you could just be pissing in the wind. Speaking to no one but machines, and you'll never be able to know for sure.
Soon heaven banning will be a thing. A form of shadow banning where you'll only be responded to by bots. You'll think the world is starting to see your view when reality could easily be the opposite. Of course some bots will still challenge you, lest you get bored and seek conflict elsewhere. It might sound like matrix larp nonsense out of the mouth of a schizo, but every piece of tech for it is there. Shadow banning, GTP3, search engine filters. They could even have ai custom write the news that you see perfectly for your bias.
I suppose mourning by gone ages is useless, but is it wrong to compare what we have now to what we had so recently? I feel bad for you young anons, who never saw Any Forums without YLYL threads. Well there was still trap porn and Loli threads, but they kept all the feet shit in a single general, not 3 separate fucking threads.

It's just sad man. I used to scroll Any Forums back in the day, but got a little bored with anime around 2012. Going back now is just heartbreaking. The waifu meme that used to keep gaia sluts from dominating conversations by having a vagina has swindled young men into wasting their whole youth spooning body pillows and gooning to hentai.
