I absolutely hate modern gaming. I like to play games when I have time, and there are modern games that I like to play as well. What I hate is the loss of gaming as a casual experience. These days we have "gamer culture", gaming as an identity, "esports", and half-finished money-grabbing games that are relevant for a month at best before the new *current thing* becomes popular on twitch. What ever happened to just picking up a game as a casual rewind for an hour after work? I have infinitely more fun playing games that came out before I was born than whatever the new esports looter-shooter fortnite battle-royale season-pass dlc grind is.

Just be glad the dopamine drip and steal your moms credit card for dress up games keep the "Bruh dat sus no cap" mouth breathers contained. They could be fucking up every genre.

I categorically avoid playing multiplayer games, with the exception of co-op with the boys. I just cant handle the energy of people who take games seriously.

You know there are more than 3 gaming companies, right?
You can play games that aren't in the top 10 charts.

The fuck do you care about any of that? Just play games you want to play you fucking dumbass.

Obviously, and thats what I do. I just miss when gaming was more casual, and gaming identity didnt exist.

I honestly don't really care, Im just going to hit up Super Mario Bros for the NES tonight.

I guess the reason why I am salty, is because I miss playing games with my friends but all they want to do is grind the current esport game. No one wants to hop on for a relaxing game these days, they just want to cop Ws in COD or whatever

Yeah, I'm with you, OP. Games are just being overly exploited for money, I feel bad for all the young guys who are getting caught up in this shit.

The young dudes rn will never get to experience how great it was to boot up Halo 3 and run through the campaign with your bro

I've been playing games for 25 years and I despise "gamer culture".

Everything went to shit with day 1 patches.

This but unironically

Im not being ironic

yeah i only emulate games nowadays and that's not just because i'm on linux and hate wine

Critically based user. I just set myself up an old crt monitor with retropi and its the most fun in years I have had playing games

you're very keyed yourself

Theres no better gaming experience than a single player platformer on a CRT, though Atari 2600 games like Asteroids have been my go to recently

>that's not just because i'm on linux and hate wine

Well I emulate games and it IS because I'm on linux and have never had a use for wine (I do kind of hate it, never got it to work). Retroarch and pcsx2 serves my needs.

Currently playing wa3, damn it is better than I remember.

Shutup faggot. Sage.

>I've been playing games for 25 years and I despise "gamer culture".
Over 40 years here, and I still often play games from the 80s / early 90s.

>emulate games
Dosbox says hi.

Let that gamer rage flow through you user...

>Dosbox

I never really played pc games, mostly consoles. I play what I did as a kid and whatever I missed.
