There was apparently a breakdown in the understanding of metaphor over the past generation. The rainbow was supposed tobe the visible light spectrum, representing the ENTIRE SPECTRUM of possibilities one could be. It was chosen because it was intended to include everyone as is, and was a simple elegant metaphor for the actual concept of inclusion. Apparently some people did nothave the nuance to percieve this
