The doe was pretty damn heroic, to be honest. She did what she felt she needed to do to protect her fawn. She was doing what any mother should do -- protecting her child from a perceived threat. That is definitely NOT faggotry. It was a mother's love in action.

fawns do that when they're threatened--they just drop. the cat had been sniffing around the fawn for awhile in the full vid before the mother doe came and found it. the dog was just curious but when the fawn dropped the deer went straight for him because, well.. he's a dog and they're predators. the cat smacks the doe on the face in the full vid lolol

The fawn's instinct when she saw the dog was to play dead in the face of a threat. It's clear that the fawn looked toward the approaching dog and saw the dog as a threat. To an inexperienced fawn, a dog could easily be mistaken for a wolf. The mother's instinct was to protect her fawn from a perceived threat. The doe didn't "spaz out", as you put it. She saw the dog as the cause of her fawn's distress, and did what she needed to do to neutralize the threat. Deer are not the meek and mild creatures that most people perceive them to be. They will defend themselves. I've seen deer, both bucks and does, attack hunters.

There was one incident where a hunter thought he would be smart and lure a buck to him so he could shoot it. So, the hunter went to the buck's scrape, trampled his boots in the scrape, then walked away and hid and waited for the buck to show up. The buck came to the scrape to check it, smelled a trail of his own urine leading away from the scrape, and assuming that it was a doe, he followed the scent. When he came up on the hunter and realized that he had been deceived, the buck attacked the hunter, seriously injuring him. The hunter never got off a shot.

For those who don't know what a scrape is, when a buck is in heat, he will dig up a patch of ground and piss on it. Then he will walk away. If a doe is in heat and wishes to mate with the buck, she will trample in the scrape, then walk away a hundred yards or so and wait for the buck to find her. When the buck determines that a doe has been in his scrape, he follows the scent, catches up with the doe, and they mate. That's what a scrape is and how it works.
