I’m 21 so I know I’m still a zoomer but I didn’t get an iPod touch until I was in 6th grade and immediately started watching porn. I can’t imagine how what’s going to happen to these 3 year olds who were basically patented by the internet.

Yeah I had to use the family computer til my parents got me a cheap one at Bestbuy at 14 years old. Had a flip phone too until about 17. Will probably do the same with my kids.

People were using ipods 10 years ago still? Damn kids these days.

I remember in middleschool my parents bought me this mp3 player that could also record songs off the radio. Great way to pass time on the schoolbus.

On candy striped legs some fat guy comes. I don't know I'm still destroy all humans.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. It's extremely concerning.

I was born in '92 and was obsessed with Internet and video games from a young age, but there was a hard separation between that and "real life", and all of it was fringe and niche. It was not clear that the Internet would be mainstream until the dotcom boom, and even then the average adult DGAF. You still handled business and anything of significance in person or on paper.

It wasn't clear that things would go the way they've gone now until around 2010, when social media and smart phones came together as an extreme socio-cultural double whammy...

What I'm trying to say is, I came up at basically the last possible moment a person could and have a grounded perspective on real life vs. Internet.

To watch the way everyone that came right after me has grown up, to see how it's affected people ten years younger than me...

Extremely extremely concerning. I don't think it will be cataclysmic but I do think it will have to get even worse before society on the whole understands how serious it is and does something to make it better.

Your kids will rightfully hate you.

Maybe, at least they'll have enough of an attention span to hate me.

You can thank the jews for that, op.

Porn should be banned for minors and age verification enforced.

Yeah I was born in 2000 and I when I got my first iPod touch in 6th grade as I said and immediately found myself on some dark parts of the internet. These iPad baby’s are going to grow to like Ted Bundy or some shit.

You just sound spoiled. I had to use the family computer until I turned 18, got a job and made enough to buy my own.

Sucks to be you.

People were bitching about technology changing things since fire was discovered. There was computer dating even in the 70s. Everytime there is a cultural shift and generational changes in leadership people say it's the end of society

My retard sister has 3 children out of wedlock from 2 different dads. Whenever I go to her apartment she always has the tv blasting and her kids are glued to their tablets. I would rather have my legs blown off by a landmine than live the way she does.

It's been kind of a notable change in the last 30 years though. With the 24 hour news networks zapping people's brains. And now people are numbing their brains listening to Joe Rogan on autoplay.

>kids are glued to their tablets
And that's a good thing. Let's see where humanity goes with these amazing tools.

The drastic increase in mental illness, the severe decrease in motivation, and the severe increase in social polarization are all novel when compared to anything similar in history.

They're caused by supernormal stimulus that are hacking the responses we evolved to have.

I agree that these are growing pains and that new technology often comes with growing pains. But these are exceptional growing pains and we would be wise to take them seriously sooner rather than later.

First people move out to suburbs and self isolate, and then give their kids technology as the only way to entertain themselves and talk to others. I swear Americans live in a self created hell and don't even realize it.

Yeah. I agree. Truest of all for rural Americans. It's so tragic watching the way they live without doing anything to improve even their immediate circumstances or diet. I was lucky to escape. My heart breaks for anyone born into it.

First people lived in small villages and never traveled more then a few miles from where they were born. Then cites industrialized and people stopped living in farms.

I grew up in the cities, suburbs, and rural America, and what really pisses me off about rural America is how there's a paved road to just about every rural location. Rural tards buy these giant pickup trucks to maybe haul a couch or something once a year (which by the way I can do with my Honda civic) and to go off reading I guess. But its a nightmare going around rural America in anything but a car. I can't walk on the paved road cause I'd get hit by an f150 doing 70. I'd get ticks wading through the unkempt grass next to the road. I wish there were just simple dirt and gravel roads in these places. Then I'd be able to walk or bike around the country side. Rural fags have the vehicles for these roads conditions too, but they're coddled with pavement.

I guess I mean first as "first when America started devolving"
