My dad got a call out of the blue from a marine corps recruiter. He handed the phone to me cause the recruiter wanted to talk to me about enlisting in the marines. He asked me a bunch of questions about college and my weight, height, drug usage, tattoos, etc. I told him I did not want to be in the marines but he insisted on meeting me for a discussion in my schools library. My question is what should I expect from him? I know he will lie and skim over problems since he’s pretty much a salesperson. Any of you guys on this sub have had this situation before?

The military should not even be an option at this point, because not only is there enough information to suggest that joining it is only for those who've allowed themselves to be brainwashed by a military-industrial complex keen on retaining what power they have left ... but there is also enough information available for people to make their OWN decisions on what they'd like to do, instead. Still, people join. They wish to be broken down and remoulded in somebody else's image. This is a sign of weakness. Of allowing one's self to be influenced and corrupted by those with power and ambition. Essentially, those who join the military are no-better than mindless sheep.

There are a lot of ways to be more of a man, joining the marines isn't a good option for that.

Everything he calls for a meeting, agree and say you'll be at some place at some time. Preferably this place will be very far from the recruiting station, but not far enough that they'll tap someone else to go. Think, like, 45 minutes away. Never show up, but always insist that next time you definitely will.

None. My knees are useless though. I can still make it to the toilet so not that bad. Mental is gone, so I barely function in public beyond buy liquor and groceries.

Join the Army, Air Force, or Navy if you can. I would avoid the Marines for obvious reasons. They're typically the ones who get fucked over because they're fucking retarded.

Try to serve in some BS "war" as some sort of logistics officer. Become airborne or do some sort of physically intensive training, like becoming airborne or joining the rangers. You'll retire before you're 50 with options to received big boi disability.

Never joining the military is my biggest regret. It's a great financial decision and you can always blame your mental illness on serving in an air conditioned tent in the middle of Kuwait.
