that's why you get a daypack AND a wheeled carriage. Otherwise you'll still need a daypack inside your big pack anyway. You can leave your main bag inside the hotel, and wear the backpack around during sight seeing. The big one goes into checked luggage, and the small one goes with you on the plane, bus, etc.
