I value my interests too much not to force them on other people. How do I get comfortable knowing I'll have to do it all alone?

Depending on what you're into you probably wont have to do it alone. If you practice it enough you will find other people interested.

Time. Longer you go without the easier things get, just keep a few good people that can pat you on the back every now and again

I've been kayaking for like 4 years, seems other kayakers are just couples The people that pat me on the back are not people I would pat on the back. Obviously not here, but I just don't know where to meet high quality individuals

My friends usually get bombarded with facts and new conversations about things that I start to pick up and like because I have no self-control.

I think it's fine though. We've had conversations that we wouldn't have originally if I didn't bring up the topic. All the more, it's fun to interested in something to the point of obsession as long as it's healthy.

It is painful knowing that no one else in your vicinity really is truly interested enough to explore and learn with you. I feel your pain. Just see it as a way to grow and develop yourself. One day, you'll be so knowledgeable that everyone will think you're kinda cool.

What are your interests?

I have a dog. She is happy to see me when I get home and I can go for a walk with her every evening after dinner.

My big thing lately has been researching mycology, foraging, general sustainability. Naturally it's a very in one ear and out the other topic when your friends won't eat vegetables to begin with
