>counting forced fucking chrome-based applications as "browser usage"
Google is a fucking cheat and a liar and should fucking get sued out of existence.

The browser war is a charade, Firefox is controlled opposition offering the illusion of choice. It's like the Republicans, resist change but then introduce it post-facto sometime after the Democrats enact it. Same thing but slower. Classic game.

I suggest Crusta.

and what exactly is wrong with google chrome?

Something about Google having a monopoly on web browsers.

Literally a dead project and it's not even using its own browsing engine. It doesn't break the duopoly (read monopoly)

and the problem with that is?

>Literally a dead project
See pic.
and it's not even using its own browsing engine
It uses whatever search engine you want.
It doesn't break the duopoly (read monopoly)
It does, unlike Chromium and Brave.

Usually I don't care if a project is left not updated but given that it is a browser which is the biggest attack vector it's probably a good idea if it is kept up to date unless you like remote code execution.
Also, search engine != browsing engine, it uses chromium as its backend so it contributes to the ever growing chromium monopoly. Something like ladybird could break the monopoly but that project is basically just a tech demo if nothing else.

Reminder that there are only 3 browsers that are worth using:
if you want to challenge Google's ownership of the web, you use Pale Moon.
If you want privacy, you use either Ungoogled Chromium or LibreWolf.
Everything else is shit.
