Not hard to get impressive gains like that given how broken it was compared to OpenGL on Linux. I'm amazed they bothered at all.

went from about 14 - 20 fps to locked 30 in xb3 with open gl. checks out

How does it compare to the Linux driver? If they managed to catch up to Mesa (the best GL driver) that's pretty impressive.

Who the fuck cares about linux holy shit

People who wanted good OpenGL performance on AMD until today.

Whoa, AMD finally not sucking in OpenGL?
What has the world come to?

Who the fuck games on linux, are people pretending to be retarded?

What is the actual significance of this? What was the problem before and what was actually solved?

Stop trolling.

It only says they improved performance on Minecraft at 4k, no mention of other games or OpenGL in general. Nothingburger.

Hope you are also pretending too.

Very nice

Still a bit better performance on absolute latest insider beta drivers. But very nice that the baseline OpenGL improvements are finally available without shenanigans. Been emulating Xenoblade 3 for the past few days, something that is otherwise an unplayable mess on AMD drivers prior to this. (it's still a bit of a mess because shader compilation stutter though)

>absolute latest insider beta drivers
How do I aquire these sekrit club drivers?

Multitude of ways.

Excuse me, they only listed Minecraft dipshit. Let me speak to your manager.

NVIDIA still dominating

I've been gaming on linux since...2011?

Fair enough, but they could've written that in the release notes.

Let's be honest, for most people Minecraft is the only OpenGL workload that matters.
