AMD fixed OpenGL? That's thread worthy.

This is what Peak Computing looks like. Everything else is bloat

Still can't install any drivers more recent than late April ones without getting an error message that nobody else on the internet is reporting about so I can't benefit from that.
The same driver releases apparently come with increased stutters for "fixed' DX11 applications so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

>(you) WILL buy into the illusion of massive price drops even though gpus prices are still way above MSRP
>(you) WILL fall for the corporation psyops
>(you) WILL regret your decision as the new gen drop
>And (you)WILL start feeling the need to upgrade when the new gem is even more expensive than it's predecessor.

any frens with 12th gen intel have any issues with their cpu due to warping? Trying to figure out if those frames or washer mods are memes or actually a good choice to get

As a 6 years waitfag, I have come to the conclusion that you should simply ignore the merchant's schemes and buy what you need when you need it. You lose as soon as you start trying to play 3D chess with him.

That's what I've been telling people
There will always be bigger, better components out there, and frankly, it's better to leverage the low prices now, and then lock up your PC for a couple of years, than to chase that hardware-dragon

>any frens with 12th gen intel have any issues with their cpu due to warping?
i've only heard of them on 12700k/12900k with overclocking
and the issue is one, higher temps after a few months

>Trying to figure out if those frames or washer mods are memes or actually a good choice to get
fuck the frames
but the washer mod is so cheap and easy to do that i'd recommend it to all alder lake users
even for a 12400, where its 100% not needed
better thermals for 5 shekels is always a good deal.

in general i agree
but with one exception: avoiding gpus during a mining boom
i mean, that one is extremely fucking obvious, hardly any 3d chess needed

Will RTX 4000 be delayed to next year?
Jews seems cant get rid of their current inventories.
Gonna buy RDNA 3 now, first time buying AMD. Hopefully the fabled driver issue has been fixed now.

>using mods to get a stock CPU to a functional state

Or you could just go with AMD.

Yes

And even if they aren't availability is going to be retarded with all the early-adopters, nevermind the price premiums.

It's very illegal but rumor has it that they'll start an entente to limit production in order to artificially maintain demand, so you'll have current prices for today's GPUs combined with more expensive next gen. Taiwanese RAM manufacturers have done it before so I don't think it's that implausible.

my e3-1230v3 and 1080ti are just fine
maybe when I can buy a used 3080 for 150

Fuck it, I'm buying a cheap Mini-PC off amazon

Buy me one too while you're at it

how cheap?
and what are the specs?

There's no way right, how can 3000 compete with RDNA3? Unless 3060ti goes down to $200 and 3080 to $400 or some shit

Currently looking for something in the $100-200 range, and no specs yet since i'm salewatching. Planning to make an old PC case into a computer hub for my workdesk.

Yeah what flavor malware you want?

Eh, doesn't matter, since I will be flashing and reformatting regardless

I have always had good luck with a used office pc like a dell or something maybe give that a look on ebay or even craiglist. If you can find a company liquidating equipment you can get some amazing deals. The stuff from a reseller will be a bit more expensive.

Does anyone else look at amazon reviews to see what shitty builds people have?

Newegg shipped my motherboard in early like it always does. Thermo paste comes in at the end of the week.
>I almost lost my patience and re-used my old thermo paste

Does this look feasible to you guys? Excuse my crusty motherboard

why the fuck is your board brown, user?

I secured a 6600 for MSRP before everything goes to shit, I'm happy.

If you're that desperate, go to Best Buy and pick up a cheap tube

I know I like dunking on Best Buy, but they're getting 'better,' and are the only people in town if you don't live near a Micro Center

modern computers all look equally boring so I don't think much of them

The dust looks grey IRL but showed up shit brown in the photo

This town is shit fucked there are no SSDs, no motherboards, and god forbid you see a graphics card
