EReaders

>reading book that I rightfully pirate
>oh I know you wanted to turn to the next page but would you be interested in this unskippable ad for a book by this woke POC author?
>reading
>oh hey I see that you haven't checked out the book from this woke POC author that we recommended so we went ahead and added it to your reading/buy list
>oh this book is $50 but you can read it for free with Kindle unlimited!
>oh you want to turn off this ad?
>sure that will be $20
>add remains
>oh that $20 is just for the lockscreen ads
>you really can't turn off these ads
Can anyone recommend me an eReader that is just a fucking eReader and isn't trying to get me to buy shit from Amazon every 30 mins?

My boox doesn't have this problem, probably has Chinese spyware though (not that I care).
I think this is an amazon exclusive problem, if you can get an ereader where you can use koreader everything shoukd be fine.

>Buy cheaper version of reader that downloads ads from the net
>Pirate books that are loaded by usb
>Keep device connected to the net anyway
This is all on you, user.

It won't even let you proceed with the setup without logging into your Amazon account.

kobo, pick one

>by an Amazon competitor that knocks off their entire business model
lol sure thing buddy.

You're using Calibre or whatever for your epubs so why are you giving it internet access?

Have you tried this?

If only there was a way to make the device forget the connection on settings.

I use coolreader on my phone, why purchase and worry about another device? Do you carry a dedicated camera too?

Phones are SHIT for reading.

>coolreader
Is it better than koreader?

dunno, I haven't tried any others, haven't needed to.

a bigger page would be nicer, but phones are pretty big these days, and with full brightness and text color/background control with quickswap day/night mode, I haven't had any problems

I've got a Kobo, it works fine. Though to be fair my previous Kindle worked fine too since I wasn't a retard and had a normal version. Aren't there cracks for the cheaper version to remove ads anyway?

I read myself to sleep every night, and then sometimes it's porn time, and since I'm reading on my phone I don't have to do anything but turn on the wifi and click my chan browser app of choice and wade through the blacked tranny threads looking for the current anal in the ass. Does your kindle display the current anal in the ass thread?

They are still very annoying to read on, an average e-reader is larger, easier to handle, you can read black text on white background, has longer battery life and is less distracting.

If you actually want to read ebooks an e-reader is avsolutely essential. So much better than a phone.

>Does your kindle display the current anal in the ass thread?
Browsing is extremely shit on e-readers. Most have some sort of wrb browser though...

Anyone know how to get Caliber to work with an iPad? It doesn't seem to detect it at all.

>Is it better than koreader?
No, koreader it THE reading app. Nothing even comes close.

I got a kindle for like $20 a decade ago and that never happened
Just look for cheap used e-readers and leave them in airplane mode forever

It's the latest Kindle Paperwhite, people were recommending the 2015 version which doesn't come with recommendations.

What is wrong with something like an iPad mini for reading instead of an e-reader?

Well for one it doesn't work with Caliber.

I just use KOReader on a jailbroken kindle while torrenting all my books or getting them from libgen.
Everyone in this thread is retarded.

Pocketbook is a good vendor neutral choice if you want to avoid the amazon/kobo monopoly.
Also supports koreader
