Why in the literal fuck does this keep happening? What makes a person want to go and shoot up an elementary school?

A lot of people want to do this kind of thing. We're the only country that easily gives them the means to do so.

Just another person who gets so depressed and socially outcast they realize the only thing they can do is the fight back against society by terrorizes the people around them. Here in America you can get guns pretty easily, and school shooters become infamous instantly. Take away the guns and there'd still be school stabbings, but less frequently since guns make it a whole lot easier. If we wanted a faster and easier fix, we'd outlaw all guns, but there's so many guns in America it'd still take a decade to get enough out of circulation to have any meaningful impact, and even if that would work there's no doubt it would eventually cause all sorts of problems, like police overreach and the government abusing its power. The ideal way to fix it is to fix our broken society that lets troubled individuals slip through the cracks. Better healthcare, better mental health awareness, better equality, better schools, people to be nicer towards their classmates, people being nicer to their neighbors, people contributing to society rather than trying to abuse it to get the best results for themselves. But capitalism doesn't like these things, they are expensive, and the benefits won't take effect for decades, long after anyone alive could capitalize on them. People don't live long enough to plan long term, it's just not how our brains work, and probably will be what eventually dooms our species.

It was where all the taunting, bullying and abuse first started and he was going to do to others what he wanted to feel powerful for once in his miserable life.

I'm sure if someone digs into his past they will find that he has hurt children before, or animals. I'm sure if someone digs into his past enough, they will find that there were plenty of warning signs leading up to this.

Why don't these school shooters kill their bullies instead ? Wasn't ramos bullied for his stuttering problem at robb so i dont understand the point of shooting up 10 year old kids. Maybe he didnt want them to get bullied like him.

You can't discount conspiracy theories since 9/11 and numerous other attacks created a precedent for enforced security. Now, the NSA can finger your butthole every time you want to fly.

Bullying is rarely deflected back at the source. Kid is abused, goes on to abuse someone else. Pecking order. Usually someone they perceive as weaker or more vulnerable.

Have you considered the possibility that they may be on SSRIs and suffering from rare side effects, which lead them to want to self-delete? The main issue is that most people don't have the balls to do it / figure out that only half of suicide attempts actually work.

This is going to lead a handful of people to try "death by cop" which becomes difficult on its own, but less so when there are plenty of places where (1) large amounts of people gather (2) the place has very lax security. All you need is to get a gun, which can be found in roughly half of the "Wally World" locations across the USA. If this doesn't work, you can always drive to the shady parts of town, try to make good friends with the local drug dealers, and buy a secondhand rifle.

Although the most recent shooter bought their gun at a local store, this has been one of few times when the gun was legally owned by the person who used it to commit the crimes. In most previous cases, the perpetrators stole guns from people they knew (many of which are from their own households) and the people who did these crimes were 100% mental cases. Most of them were on prescription drugs, most notably SSRIs.

We shut down the most reliable methods to treat and care for the mentally ill when we closed asylums. Now we glorify mental illnesses and encourage drug use, anything counter-culture. We reap what we sow

True, but this didn't happen before Columbine, etc. It's a pattern now. Like there's more to it than just being crazy, crazy people are capable of lots of crazy shit or no crazy shit at all. Why do these specific events continue to happen?
