School shootings are unacceptable, tragic, and something should be done.

But I truly don't belive banning ar15s would do anything to stop that. If God himself told me it would prevent these things from happening, I'd support the ban. But the fact of the matter is handguns make up the vast majority of gun homicides, you really don't get any advantage using a rifle in a school shooting setting, and even if you could ban them, there's millions and millions of them in the US already that aren't just gonna disappear

What America needs to prevent all these homicides from occurring is quality education, affordable healthcare that includes coverage for mental health issues and quality social safety nets. When you have all of these things in place, you don't have so many people fantasizing about shooting up a school, a store, a religious building or whatever.

This is what allows you to have as many guns as you want to have.
