Grip is forward for better stability / control while aiming.
if the gun is pressed against your shoulder that point becomes the pivot point.
Then when you move your front hand to aim if it is further back the front of the gun will move further with less movement of your hand. thus it will be harder to aim at smaller targets.
so you move the grip forward and then you get a more 1 to 1 movement of the sight picture with the movement of your hand
