Are these mini gaming PCs any good? Manjaro keeps advertising them to me on my browser. I don't see how they could be good gaming PCs, but maybe they are decent computers? I do mostly digital art, would they be good for that? They don't seem to have a graphics card, and I presume the power brick is separate...

Not really unless you have a VESA mount and a very cool environment/wall padding to dampen the sound they can make. I've had 3 and the biggest issue is always these fuckers revv'ing the second you want to play games for any length of time. Even replacing the thermal paste with something good, still happens.

You're unironically better off with a gamer laptop+cooling pad.

Depends on the game. Vega 7/8 is still good iGPU even 2022. Cooling probably is sufficient for ultra mobile chip.

>888xor

i have one i use to draw loli porn with it and its very nice, but got it entirely because it allows for several Hdmi conections.

>Manjaro keeps advertising them to me on my browser
nani

Biggest issue I ran into with these trying to maintain one as a light gaming PC was that to fully spec these out you practically out price yourself to a laptop that could have a dedicated gpu.
Like getting a 5600H+16GB ram+1650 GTX laptop for ~800 is easier than pricing these.

>getting ads on linux

When you open a new browser window on start-up it defaults to a manjaro page where they promote this mini PC, and also the pine phone and a laptop.

absolutely disgusting

manjaro moment
manjarno.snorlax.sh

so change the behavior you fucking retard

>hrmm this pc allows me to do anything I want
>no, i will continue to use terrible defaults

It all seems a bit nit-picky.
What's EndeavourOS like?
it doesn't bother me, you psycho

>I like using defaults and seeing ads

opinion completely disregarded.

based

Exactly. They only make sense if you already have ram, ssds lying around. Also ayymd ones are trash as they only got pcie4 from 6000 onwards so if you wanted to egpu in the future these things only have pcie3 x4

>What's EndeavourOS like?
It's already in that page, but unlike Manjaro it's not trying to replace Arch, it's just Arch with a different installer. It uses the Arch repositories and when you install a kernel or anything related to drivers it comes straight from Arch repos.

you have to be 18 to post on this site

So I'm too old then
