scrot

screen print, it's right there on your keyboard.

tried out kubuntu on my weak laptop. its nowhere near as good as sharex

Nothing as far as I know. ShareX is the only thing Wangdos has going for it.

screenprint is a button on your keyboard moron, you just can click it and does the whole screen instantly

i know, but the built in screenshot tool on kubuntu is not nearly as feature packed as sharex

why are you sharing screenshots? that's like selling part of your digital soul.

you can easily turn the online sharing features, share x is a relay good open source screenshot tool that has optional features that can upload your screenshots to for example cloud storage, but it can be turned off

Flameshot is the only thing in the Linux ecosystem as bloated and shitty as ShareX on account of most Linux software is designed to just do what it says on the tin. A "screenshot" tool with an image editor that stores your login credentials for 35 different botnet image hosting sites so that every one of your images can be datamined twice instead of just once is actually about 5 pieces of software all combined into one mediocre package.

b-but share x is open source how can it sent it to image hosting sites?

Nothing. It's one of the only downsides to Linux.

Nothing comes close to ShareX

Bump because I legitimately want to get something good on my distro.

>not nearly as feature packed
what more fucking "features" do you want from a static screen capture tool, you nonce?

if you need to edit anything just use gimp you zoomer

its much faster this way

I liked this but I barely used it

>sharex
can someone qrd me on why I'd need this bloat over the built in windows screenshot to clipboard?
from the looks of it you can't even set up custom image hosting sites to upload to

I shell script my own S3 webhook into Mac OS screenshot because I rule

>windows only apis in an open source project
for what reason do devs do this other than maliciousness?

Nigga did you even bother to look? Kshare is just exactly that.
Sure it's unmaintained but I have used it for the last three years and it still Just Works

nvm just tried it
the selection snapping is neat and you can technically get it to run an entire shell script with the image file afterwards
jury is still out on whether the bloat is worth it though, could care less about the built-in image editors

What in the fuck is ShareX, sounds like botnet

it's a good screenshot tool but it comes with a bunch of useless upload shit

it's zoomershit for people too stupid to just use copy and paste

I use it to record a section of the screen and then directly upload it here

So as not to produce crippled software just to be able to service an OS no one uses.

I said other than maliciousness

I pity the newfriends who will make the mistake of taking the rock-dwelling freetards of this board seriously
