As an adult, where the fuck do you find these sorts of things in a rural town in the middle of nowhere? If you've never lived in a rural town before then you don't know how hard it is to find someone with similar interests and hobbies as you, also the only sort of community is all of the old folks that went to high school together just never left the town. Saying "Form some hobbies and immerse yourself in the community" is a lot easier said than done, even in a city it's not that easy.

It's really not that hard. Go out more and socialize. Eventually, you'll find somebody you like, and that likes you. Don't be pushy, don't be weird about it. Hygiene is important too. You don't want to sit in your room all day posting to a bunch of anonymous frog fags.
