I tried doing this to break a router so I could return it and it just tripped a breaker. Got a bunch of smoke on the power plug but it worked fine.

they call those widow makers

More often, they're called suicide cords. 'Tards use these to lazily hook generators or RVs up to a household circuit.

I can't believe you've done this.

Ahh, a flexible bus bar. Quite handy

Yep, one side in the wall and the other in your mouth

Nothing wrong if you stay within the rated limits of the wiring.

If you need any explanation as to why this is a bad idea: you should use this.

There's nothing "wrong" as long as you shut off power from the grid so you don't end up killing some worker somewhere

If you don't turn off the main breaker it could fry a lineman by re-energizing a pole transformer putting kilovolts in the line. Note "could": the circuit has to be sufficiently isolated from other subscriber loads, as your little generator is not going to pull a megawatt load without instantly tripping.

>it could fry a lineman
doesn't sound like my problem

>it could fry a lineman
not my problem

not my problem

until it does and his family sues you

sue me, dickhead

>"Huurr duurrr sue me, I don't have a dime! What do you mean debtors prison?"

sue me, dickhead

I will simply burn all my cash, destroy my assets, and then kill myself. They won't get anything out of me.

>plug both ends to the wall
>effortlessly feed the grid
>get paid for it

Hilarious.

You've got a strange sense of humor.
