ITT: shill your favorite piece of really niche software that's nevertheless very useful. Mine is FBCNN, an automatic remover of JPEG artifacts that can restore heavily compressed images back to good quality PNGs. Links here:

How much is niche? There's this multiplatform clone of Total Commander called Double Commander that i think is quite serviceable. Is also quite well documented but the documentation is hard AF to find at first glance for some reason, a mixed mess of old Sourceforge and Github pages is what polutes the search results.

There's also Buku, a bookmark manager with tagging and export on many formats made in Python. It stores everything on a Sqlite file so not hard to synchting, but also has an optional web interface.

My UVC junction point creator.
Precisely two people on this Earth have used it.

Damn, this just leads you to download the latest stable source tarball, here's where you can actually find the download link for builds

I swear is decent, but the project pages are structured as a damn mess.

the jpeg looks better imo, right looks airbrushed and loses some details

Erases artifacts along with all the detail that still survived in them. Awesome, turns garbage into smudges of shit

I'm not sure how niche it is but I find ISLC (Intelligent Standby List Cleaner) very useful on Windows, especially for those on 8 GB or 4 GB of ram. Might also be useful for those who fell for the 16 GB meme and browse the web with lots of tabs open

Lol this.
And most image editing programs already have filters that do that

Fuck off, it's clearly just a shitty smoothing filter

>Bad Software named Total Commander
>Someone clones it
>Calls it Double Nig- erm Commander

Right looks like he's possesed by demon.

basically a

GIMP - filters->enhance->noise reduction -> strength 8

No wonder, it's a niche.

>restore
>smooths it over until it's fucking unrecognizable

>FBCNN
Preview is only of ridiculously stretched JPEGs, so it's impossible to compare competing software.

soul vs. soulless

why did this guy spawn that one chinese meme again?

Retards.

give a original picture and I'll post the result for comparison.

It's nothing more than glorified filter as of now.

>automatic remover of JPEG artifacts
along with all the detail

>It retains detail just fine! Just look at how it restored this cel-shaded drawing with no detail!

Post naive blur vs FBCNN results for comparison.

It actually works well. See
