Why do all dmv employees have a sense of entitlement and act like people in line are just a huge inconvenience?

anyone can get a DL or CAID as long as they have the correct documentation.

to be honest I see this alot there are just people in the system who seem to think we are not servicing customers. people at work have the mentality of NEXT NEXT NEXT NEXT like if we are a tire repair shop.

but there are good workers within the DMV's

we recently switched to a online version of DMV instead of a version that kind of looks like CMD console.

I want to get motorcycle license, I will go take written test. I could not find anywhere on website to make appointment. If I walk in how long will I possibly wait to take a written test

depends on the office if its in LA county about 2-4 hours depending on the day

do you have access of peoples records and stuff? like can you lookup names, address, cars info, pics?

REAL ID feels like a scam. why the fuck is this a thing? also is it all REAL ID now? can i get a regular DL without it? what additional shit do i need for it?

we can lookup records and such pictures would be a different system but as for addresses and written info pretty much yes.

I ask this because people cant tell if they are talking about license as in CADL or a yearly renewal on their car registration

If its your CADL wait 45 days. generally it will take about 7-10 days to process then up to 30 days from then.

if your talking about car registration then I would head into your local DMV or AAA office and check to see whats going on.

just read the CA DMV book as long as you read it and understand what you are reading should be pretty easy.


real ID pretty much matches you up to who you are so instead of Bob Jones III JR it will list your real legal name. you will see in the next few years your car Registration will list your real name as it legally appears on your Birth cert etc.

i thought REAL ID thing is about people not needing a passport for travel. I dont get what you mean by matching to legal name or birth certificate. people change name and stuff too.

pretty much but it takes more information to find someone and you dont even know if its the person your looking for, but if you know their DL number then yes you can stalk someone.

real ID is for alot of stuff just naming some of the meanings for it.

How can one get a state ID card if they are over 18 and don't have a birth certificate, social security card, and passport? Plus no one in their household can't/won't help them to get an ID card.
