I am not that surprised at black Republicans. Hip hop culture is popular among black communities. You could say it is a basis for black culture in general. Doesn't the entire hip hop aesthetic play on republican principles? Become successful from "nothing" due to business savvy and staunch independence? Check. Be an entrepreneur and a pillar of your community? Check. Seduce women because of your virile masculinity? Check. The only real difference to me seems to be the type of business pursuits available in black/white communities.

Weird as it sounds, the black community is overwhelmingly conservative. They are the staunchest opponents of globohomo. Gays in the ghetto are shunned. Being trans is a death sentence. They are fiercely anti-tax. I doubt there is even a single black-owned business that doesn't cook its books to pay 0 tax. They are the real-deal constitutional carry people and they give zero fucks about permits and that other nonsense.
The problem is their racism bumps up against white's racism and so they vote with the rest of the non-whites in the Democratic Party. That plus the Democrats make it a competition to see who can grift the most money for blacks and to make the most ridiculous excuses for black culture.
Trump won more black votes than any Republican since Eisenhower because he realized that blacks don't really give a shit about muh raysisum and are perfectly happy with money and freedom. Just like all normal people.

Well yes and no. It's similar to the Mexican conservative thing. Republicans are so overtly against helping essentially the kids of these communities break out of the cycle of issues, the culturally conservative adults can't vote republicans. It's the same issue with abortion. If republicans could shift their funding a bit (not increase) and adopt a bit more of a libertarian mindset around abortion, they would win it all forever.
