Good.

Webp is shit.

>new thing bad

>new thing bad because its new. grug no like new thing because new thing make grug feel old

You only care about support for it because it's being forced on you. If every image you encountered was png or jpg you wouldn't give a single shit about webp not being supported here or anywhere else.

its file compression capabilities are amazing. isnt Any Forums all about compressing things as much as possible? you only get a few MB in your posts. did you have the same attitude toward HEVC when it came out?

(((webp)))

Lossy compression was a mistake and it shouldn't be supported on imageboards

based lossy compression is cancer

I just use this to quickly convert webp to jpg for the chins

And that's a good thing.

fpbp

It's literally already being phased out by google in favor of incompatible webp2, which also will be phased out a couple of years later. Invest in long-term formats like jxl.

why doesnt Any Forums support .bmp?

WebP lossless is actually really good and a significant upgrade to 8-BPC PNG.

Why doesn't Any Forums support vector files?

who the fuck uses webp

Good. Webp is absolute cancer. Someone should invent a browser extension to automatically convert them to JPG or PNG once downloaded.
