You aren't entirely wrong. I worked on the overpopulation issue for a think tank and this is one of the solutions that was considered in terms of reducing racial/ethnic conflict, reducing overpopulation and decreasing the risk of violence from selected-against young men.

It's honestly not a bad thing once you fully understand all of it. It's just going to take some change and acceptance that is going to take about a generation or two. Already the shift in acceptance / views and non-traditional gender/sex roles between say millenials and Gen-Z is a large shift imagine how much more acceptable it will be in say 20 years...
