Good morning sirs, what's a good model for vidya? Honestly I just want to play indie stuff like Factorio and maybe modded Minecraft.

Is $300 a good price for a T480 with i5 7300U, 8gb/128gb, and FHD? Found one with i7 but for $500.

not with skylake which that first one has

Just disabled system integrity protection bros

Depends on the climate you're in but if you have it kick in at 60C it most likely will start even if you're not doing anything resource intensive on the laptop. This is because while you use it thje laptop will get hotter and hotter with no easy way of getting rid of the heat.

w530 feels outdated already
does there exists a modern thinkpad that's not trooned or jewed out?

X1 Extreme is the only option for upgradability.

No, 7300 is 7th gen which is dual core. If you're gonna pay hundreds, it should at least be 8th gen (8###) which is quad core.

$300 is max I'd pay for the T480/T480s with 8th gen cpu. I bought my T480s for $240, and from there you can spend money on upgrades (ram, bigger ssd).

>w530 feels outdated already
You don't "need" anything more than a T430/X230. Anyone who says otherwise is coping.

What price should I be paying for a T480?

Anyone have an issue with external battery that will charge but doesn't appear to discharge? Bought a 72wh for my T480 and it is 'fully charged' in the upower command, but will not discharge. Updated to latest bios, still same issue.

The problem is most likely with the battery itself. Sound like you bought an off brand one since you didn't specify it was an official one.

It claims genuine but it could very well not be. I assume you're correct that the battery is a dud, although the system does recognise it and appears to have charged it.

RAM is working with no problems on the T410. I'm going to share the model and vendor
The machine is finally fully upgraded.

Where did you buy it from? Unless it was specifically labeled as genuine and from a reputable vendor it's not going to be genuine.

Ebay, was labelled as genuine, but I assume I got swindled, heh.

Depends on where you live. Burgers report less than 400$. In my cunt they fluctuate around 400-500$

Is £80 - £100 a good price for an x220. I can't seem to find them any cheaper.
