Y’all ever felt like Any Forums has grown too edgy and low quality? We were talking about it in a thread, and after some discussion, I decided to start work on a different imageboard. Not necessarily better, but different. One without the ridiculous amount of spam and politics Any Forums has and instead a comfy little tight knit community that discusses things a lot more personally and without the toxicity.
Introducing Classichan: the fruit of my labor. The guys from the original thread have been having fun with it, but now it’s time to release it to the public. It’s designed to imitate a different era of Any Forums, back when it was about smug anime girls arguing and when the internet was still fresh.
I am doing this because I want to bring back something that was lost, so expect reasonable moderation (no shadowy figures deleting what they don’t like) and no permabans. However, ANY politics and the likes will get deleted, because we want a healthy community, learning from 4chans mistakes.
We even made a board where you can discuss the way the site is being run, recommend new board ideas, and bring attention to issues in moderation.
I am running it from a raspberry pi with a 20 year old subdomain, so I hope to run it till the day I die.
This is a cool idea and honestly I'm impressed, but this is 4chsn so links of new websites are sus...

Someone has made "the new Any Forums" several times. At this point there's probbaly hundreds of chans out there. The problem is, most of them died within a few months or years, because anything resembling a considerable fraction of Any Forums traffic just doesn't happen. Yeah, you have 8k and its derivatives, but that's its own animal.
The problem is that you can never really get the traffic necessary to make it a flourishing website, even if your goal is 100 active posters at a given moment. Sure, you can spam threads about it on all the random boards like Any Forums, Any Forums, /bant/, Any Forums, /soc/ etc, but you'll just look like a desperate faggot and the ClassiChan name will be tarnished.
If this actually becomes a moderately successful chan, I'll be surprised. Also, put a header on your site so I don't have to use the back arrow, retard.
The ip is different but I am, in fact, hosting this shit at home. A raspberry pi should be enough for a little chan

I want to see an altchan succeed for once, because I want to see more competition among imageboards. But as other anons said, creating an altchan is largely futile. You need to seriously know what you're doing to stand any chance of success. Removing political cancer is a nice move, as it lifts the divisions between your users. But for your users' sake, I hope you have hard principles and you stick to them well. Don't let faggots crony up with you and ""influence"" you, or you'll end up the same way plebbit and something awful did.

Don’t worry, the only reason for this to exist are it’s principles: Any Forums is a shithole, because it allowed certain things and people it shouldn’t have. Any Forumstards and spammers are the lowest tier of internet users, and this Chan is supposed to prove what the internet can look like without them.
