"Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say."

Are credit card masking services (e.g. privacy.com) worth it? My bank does not have it built in so I'd need a third party one.
I'm buying a lot of ammo online lately and a lot of these stores don't seem very secure, just like wordpress shit that might be outdated and get hacked to skim CC info.

Just get a prepaid CC at Walmart.

Does it have good fraud protection? I've done several chargebacks over the years and always got my money back. Even for stuff that was defective that I just couldn't return.

If Tor is so good then how come criminals still get vanned all the time?

Do you have an actual argument against the issues raised by the article?

So what exactly is Whonix and is it better than Tails?

This doesn't even address half of the issues raised.

Basically you have two virtual machines running together, one is the router of your traffic (Tor) and the other one is for actual internet browsing
I wouldn't be able to tell you how much private it is though

They didn't use Tor
Their OPSEC sucked
They completed transaction/shipment in person

I think the idea is if your browser is compromised it can't just bypass Tor

bump

Why do you anons really want to protect from the government? Just curious.

Most of this is avoidance of surveillance capitalism. Government surveillance would be a much higher threat model.

It's a very murky area:

That said, I would rather take the risk for the boost to privacy.
