So I got this macbook that I want to see if I can convert to my personal macbook. Only issue is that I want to make sure all influence from my previous company is removed. So far my plan is to
>reset to factory settings
>hope there isn't a firmware password
>find a way to zero out the entire macbook
>run gist.github.com
>do all this with internet off
Is there anything else? This is a pretty big company I'm working with so I want to make sure I cover my basis
How do I reset this from work

give it back to its owner, tyrone.
These companies hate white people and uplift black people. Why do you want to support them?
> has company computer
> is locked
eat shit. also, fuck niggers and itoddlers. give it back to its owner, tyrone.
>be me
>hate niggers
>REALLY hate niggers
>Also I will white knight for companies that hate white people and love niggers
???
Give it back Jamal.
>Calling me Jamal
>want to support company that hates white people
give it back, tyrone.
Apple kinda did it for you already, as far i know the macbook volume is encrypted, and when you do a factory reset, it just erase everything
Hold alt while rebooting to check for firmware password, if there is one get fucked
If not,

Boot to it
Open disk utility. Nuke the internal disk, not the installer. Install macos
>working for a company that uses curryniggerbooks
If there is no firmware password, should I be worried about anything else, like DRM? I know about that one script a friend sent, but I'm wondering if there's anything else.
If there is a mobile device manager on there, you are boned. Most MDMs can survive OS wipe/reinstalls.
If there's no firmware password then who gives a shit, nuke the disk and you're fine.
There is no DRM, it's a mac, either it's locked or it's not, don't run random fucking scripts off github if you have literally no clue what you're doing.
Make a bootable installer for a compatible OS.
Boot to the installer. a menu will pop up, cancel it if it tries installing directly
get to this screen
Then, in disk utility, click "View>Show all devices", then, on the side, next to internal, click "Apple SSD" or whatever, and select erase.
Format it as a new, empty APFS volume. Go back to the installer, install to it.
Congratulations, you now have a totally empty mac.
If it was an M1, you could go to "about this mac>system info" and make sure that it says "Activation Lock Status: Disabled"
Other than that you're fine
That's not your personal laptop, that's property of your company. Give it back, and buy a Macbook for yourself.
Is there a way I can check for this?
All right thank you. I want to make extra extra sure.
One final question: if I ever need this repair at a store, will I get boned? If not, can I fix it myself?
>be told to give it back
>justifies stealing by saying the people he steals it from hate him so it's okay
For a white guy you sure are a nigger.
That's made by apple, not Microsoft
At least stop bumping the thread if you're gonna give me shit
I'd be fine with people who steal things getting the death penalty
If it's reported stolen Apple Stores won't touch it. They'll just hand it back to you. They may contact the real owner (your company) that it showed up in their store. Then your company can have the police look into it.
Guys like Rossman have said that if they have a stolen Macbook come in, they hand it back, as well.
