the answer is the death of the gamer and the idea of PCs being used for something else other than business machines becoming mainstream. nothing is allowed to have balls anymore because now it's a "serious business". being a gamer is now just another sterilized american pass-time like watching tv, so of course all the performance hardware has to follow suit in conforming to making non-offending schlop for the masses, lest they get cancelled by the woke mob. everyone is a gamer now, people are building high end rigs for their moms. what it meant to be a gamer, to be raw, to be edgy, is gone; and so too are things like hardware packaging with tits on them.
