Users _want_ personalised content. That's why all those companies are doing it, simple as that. And it makes sense: if you're interested in X type of content, then obviously you don't want to see Y type of content, so the platform picks up on that and suggests X content to you. If you don't like it, nowadays you can opt out of it on literally any site that does it, due to EU/etc privacy laws.
I don't see the issue personally.
