Can owners tell me what your temperatures are in normal tasks like watching a 1080p video or reading a PDF or editing a spreadsheet?
All of the videos on youtube are weird and look at temperatures for like 100 tabs playing 4k videos and video games.

yes
-10 most days, some days its -11, those are the days i call special days.
three fiddy
Room temperature pretty much
About ~3000 degrees Celsius. Sometimes 210 pi radians.
Mine runs at about 140 Kelvin at idle
this was one of the biggest deciding factors of mine when it came to purchasing the M1 MBA. it never gets hot, watching youtube, surfing, it can sit on your lap all day without issues. unlike my 2019 intel i7 MBP which gets fucking scalding hot. I can never have that shit on my lap.
using the app istatmenus to log fan speeds, in one month of using the 14" m1 macbook pro my fans were on for about 2 hours. Most days the graph shows my fans never even turned on at all, the macbook air shillers were not kidding you will never need the fan unless youre rendering or gaming
I regularly accumulate 200-300+ tabs during working sessions, the 32gb model absolutely ran faster than my original 16 that I returned due to hitting 70-80% memory pressure and noticeably slowing down once I hit the 120-150 tab mark
Temps are usually in the 50s or 60s
also if you have the budget for an m1 macbook air, save up tendy points and pay a little more for the m2 with the refreshed design and charging port
69 degrees
and get half the storage speed because apple cheaped out and only put in 1 chip instead of 2? fuck off.
that's with the 256gb model. Half storage speed isn't as significant as you think because sequential speeds do not matter much outside of rendering ram-heavy workloads that are just straight swapping. If you're buying it as a render device youre already a cuck for not getting the 14/16 pro. If you're buying it for normal work you're a cuck for ditching the new design, extra ports, better cpu performance, better battery life, smaller footprint, and better webcam/speakers just so your ssd sequential read speeds are faster lmao
anything with 8gb is planned obsolescence anyway, get the 16gb/256 or 24/512 if youre paranoid [at this point get the pro]
if not enjoy listening to smoothbrain youtubers and buy 2 year old stock for no discount
Mine's usually at 30-35 degrees while just using ~5 tabs on Firefox with VS code open
Shill detect, neck yourself for the good of this board.
you're a retard
m1 - 2200
m2 - 1400
m1 pro 14/16 - 4500
plot them on a graph retard. you don't know how ssd speeds work or what matters. The fact that these youtubers don't talk about random read/write performance proves enough.
enjoy buying a 2 year old macbook because you're salty about 128gb nand chips not being available anymore, and too stupid/cheap to buy the 512gb model if you're neuroticism makes you care
i can't wait to sell my m1 air for $50 less than I bought it for 2 years ago to some retard like you on craigslist, cheapest tech purchase ever
mine is stone cold all the time.
only when i reencode my porn videos pre upload will it get hot
Currently AirPlaying 1080p video to a TV on my M1 Max, 50c die temp, fans aren't even spinning, around 8W total system power usage.
if you look at notebookcheck's tests, it pretty much has the same temps and battery life as the AMD thinkpads. it's almost like Intel and AMD actually know what they are doing, except under 1W. that's where they fail miserably and you get monstrosities like the steam deck that have to cheat and go to a higher tdp.
room temp, nj
