Debian was shit, so Ubuntu stepped in to fix it
now Ubuntu is so shit, Pop!_OS stepped in to fix it
So Pop!_OS is the new Ubunut aka default distro
Pop!_OS is new Ubuntu
>GNOME
I really like Pop OS, but I think Mint is worth mentioning, even as the Loser Rival
as a nigerian, from windows 11
>Debian was shit
Debian was never shit, it was just hard to use.
>Ubuntu is shit
Yes, but that's why we have Mint. Nobody asked for Poop!_OS.
isnt poop os ubuntu with a different theme for gnome?
Debian as and it's still shit, Ubuntu does a lot of quality of life patching on top of it
Pop OS won't run with secure boot enabled on my PC so I can't dual boot with Windows 11. :(
Themed ubuntu made by rustroons that like to blame all of their bugs on upstream.
I use a thinkpad with popos and kde instead of gnome.
And extensions
I mostly agree
Canonical really fucked up to lose so much mind share with power users
i thought mint was new ubuntu. they even have debian version
>systemd
yeah debian is shit
devilish
Based. Me too user. I installed pop os on my thinkpad 5 months ago. It's a better distro than mint.
>ubuntu is the new ubuntu
i'll stop recommending it, they're literally repeating canonical's mistake with unity
>icuck user
>pony posting
like pottery
Ubuntu changed the landscape of desktop linux because they were able to make an easy-to-use distro with actual support behind it. The reason they became the new default was money. Unless pop os can make their hardware into a cornerstone of the desktop linux world they'll just be a fun alternative. Nothing wrong with being a fun distraction of course, it's just never going to mean much to governments or developers or anyone else who uses desktop linux.
Personally, I prefer MX Linux.
>it was just hard to use.
Hard to set up, maybe. Afterwards not really.
Then use Devuan.
They're developing a new DE called COSMIC. I'm pretty excited desu.
Yeah Mint is still pretty good, I only use it on my laptop but it's still probably the best beginner distro
