Is $200 a good price for a T460s i7-6600U 2.6GHz with 20GB RAM but not HDD?

I wouldn't pay more than $140

Depends on where you live. I’d generally buy it for half the cost of a T480 minus the undesirable specs like hdd

I don't get this thinkpad fanboy-dom. These laptops are junk. I have a T420 I bought new and two days ago the fucking hinge holding up the screen snapped. These things are not that durable if even a simple hinge doesn't last for at least two decades. JUNK!

Awesome. Appreciate the help. Off to negotiate

Only 11 years of use. Do you think I can call Lenovo for a refund? Or at least for them to cover repair costs.

what's the screen resolution and battery condition?

you can buy new hinges for $10 and replace them yourself. that is impossible in many modern laptops where the display assembly is literally welded shut. every moving part will fail sooner or later, and it will definitely happen sooner if you use it a lot. 10 years of continuous use is a good track record for hinges at any rate.

>what's the screen resolution and battery condition?
Specs are identical to my work laptop, so I believe it’s 1920x1080 resolution. Getting info on battery.

Fellas I'm looking for a thinkpad, I've been scouring the thinkwiki for hours but there's too much, so I need your help
I need a thinkpad with as much ports as possible. It also need to be upgradeable as shit, if something breaks it would be nice to replace it, so as little as possible soldered to the motherboard. Has to be upgradable to 16gb of RAM, and have an i series processor.
Some bonuses would be usb c and the blue enter key because it looks soulful
Cheers in advance

W530/T430/T530 (with keeb swap for blue enter)
Laptops with usb-c probably have significantly less ports than those without. If you want usb-c charging, there are ez mods you can do to the older models

Hello, I'm looking to buy a new Thinkpad and I have my eyes on a model E15 Gen 4. Since I'd like some more memory and storage, should I shell out +$300 for those components to be included or is it cheaper to buy them and install them on my own afterwards? Sorry if it's a retarded question this is my first putting a lot of attention into my computer.

Best distro on a T440p?

Ok, maybe I should've done the math before asking, but yes, it's cheaper. Again, sorry for filling up the thread with retarded bullshit.

Stupid Questions Thread sticky said come here for: Good, cheap laptops
Is it only ThinkPads..?

Which Thinkpad is the best for quality/price?

Thinking about the T440.

The e series are so shit lmao

Anything really if you just look at the specs to price ratio. The older thinkpads have better build quality and modular parts with some including the cpu

rices up fedora xfce

Dell latitudes are really cheap compared to thinkpads but quality may not be as good. Still a really good Business™ laptop
